Engine Check

I have had this Yellow VeloSolex or Solex 4600 V3 version for a while with the goal to get it back on the road. It likely dates back from 1977-78, but up to now the frame and bike has been in parts stacked in a corner and the engine sitting on top of a shelf, waiting for its time

It's getting cooler here, so it's time for some closed-door, garaged fun!

At first the engine turns, which is good, but it sounds scrappy, which is not... The gas tanks is shattered to pieces and someone a long time ago left gas mix in the tank because the fuel lines are clogged with dried oil.. not sure if I can salvage those.
